Dominique Louis
Dominique Louis has been involved with the sport of volleyball since age 12. As a young boy with strong leadership skills and passion for success he quickly became the captain of a major private school in Port-au-Prince Haiti and remained captain through his senior year of high school. Dominique is a 4 time national team selection for the Haitian National Team and successfully competed in many major international tournaments like the Norceca, Cazova, etc.
After moving to the United States, although he did not play in college he continued to play at a high level and expand his knowledge of the game practicing with his friends at NJIT and Rutgers University, and played in several tournaments in the NY/NJ area.
Dominique’s priorities changed when his son was born and he shifted his focus to family and a career. Although physically away from volleyball, his love for the game only grew stronger. Dominique continued to share his knowledge and experience working with co-ed teams at the YMCA, where he would workout.
More recently, he started coaching as a volunteer parent assistant at Cherokee High School with the Varsity team. The players and parents took notice to Dominique’s passion and experience as a coach, and soon he started training players from the JV and middle school teams as well. Word spread fast about Dominique’s enthusiastic, team oriented coaching style and ability to quickly develop players. He was recruited by several clubs and chose to work with Crossfire for the 2016-2017 season. Not only did he coach the team, he helped assist the club from an overall player development standpoint and did countless lessons for athletes hungry for more training.
Dominique intends to remain active as a coach and mentor in the volleyball community for years to come! We are very excited to have Dom as part of the 575 coaching and leadership team!
